Cristina Robles was born in San José, Costa Rica (1988). Since a very young age she has been in love with art and imagery. But after experimenting with different mediums, she finally discovered the passion for photography at the age of 15.
With more than 10 years studying and working with photography, she has specialized in photo documentary, a job that has given her the opportunity to travel all around the world and live in several countries. Cristina has a Degree in Mass Media Communication from the University of Costa Rica and has specialized in audiovisual production.
She has contributed to major publications in her country as a photographer, a producer, and as a journalist.
Now a days, she lives in Madrid, after finishing both, a Master’s degree in Transmedia Documentary and Journalism in the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and a Master’s Degree in Scriptwriting with The Mediapro Studio + Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
During 2021 she’s been working on her first feature film “Sing your Sorrows Away” (Canta y no llores) which has been selected in the Coofilm II Residence for women filmmakers, and the Torino Film Lab Extended.
During 2022 the project was also selected in CIMA Impulsa, a residence for women filmmakers by la Asociación de Mujeres Cineastas de España + Netflix.
Currently the project is in the development phase.
She’s developing her first fiction series as a scriptwriter with Oficina Burman (BsAs, Argentina) which is part of The Mediapro Studios.
During 2022 she worked as Digital Producer for the Youth and Culture Ministry of Costa Rica. Currently she works as Content Producer for El Baúl de las Piqué, (Madrid, Spain).
